Privacy Policy for EYE2025 App

Privacy Policy for EYE2025 App

Effective Date: April 7, 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how the EYE2025 application (“App”), related to the European Youth Event 2025 of the Salvation Army, handles information when you use the App available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

1. Introduction

Welcome to the EYE2025 App! We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information, if any, the App collects and how it is used. Our goal is to be transparent and provide you with control over your information.

2. Information We Collect

The EYE2025 App is designed to minimize data collection. We do not collect or store any personally identifiable information (like your name, email address, phone number, or precise location) directly through the App on our servers.

However, we utilize the following third-party services provided by Google Firebase, which may collect certain non-personally identifiable data:

  • Firebase Crashlytics: This service helps us identify and fix crashes and errors within the App. It automatically collects certain information related to app crashes, such as device state information, unique device identifiers (like the Android Advertising ID or iOS IDFA, depending on your settings and platform), device hardware and OS information, and the location and time of the crash. This data is anonymized or pseudonymized where possible and is used solely for diagnosing and improving the stability and performance of the App.
  • Firebase Remote Config: This service allows us to remotely update certain aspects of the App’s configuration (like feature flags or event schedules) without requiring you to update the App itself. It may collect non-personal instance identifiers to fetch and apply these configurations.

No other user data is collected, processed, or stored remotely by the EYE2025 App. All event information, schedules, or user settings managed within the app are typically stored locally on your device unless explicitly stated otherwise for a specific feature (which is not the case based on the information provided).

3. How We Use Information

The limited information collected via Firebase services is used exclusively for the following purposes:
To Improve the App: Analyzing crash reports helps us fix bugs and enhance the App’s stability and user experience.
To Update App Content/Features: Remote Config allows us to provide timely updates to event information or enable/disable features dynamically.
We do not use this data for advertising, tracking user behavior across diff

4. Data Sharing

We do not share any personal information because we do not collect it.
Non-personally identifiable data collected by Firebase Crashlytics and Remote Config is processed by Google according to their privacy policies. We do not share this data with any other third parties, except as required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Data Security

We rely on the security measures implemented by Google Firebase to protect the data collected by Crashlytics and Remote Config. As we do not store personal data on our own servers, the primary security focus is on the data handled by these third-party services. Data stored locally on your device is subject to your device’s security settings.

6. Data Retention

Crash data collected via Firebase Crashlytics is retained according to Firebase’s data retention policies, typically for a limited period (e.g., 90 days) sufficient for analysis and debugging. Data related to Remote Config is generally transient and not stored long-term.

7. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personally identifiable information, traditional data subject rights (like access, correction, deletion) under regulations like GDPR may not directly apply to data held by us. However, you can typically manage or reset device identifiers used by services like Crashlytics through your device’s settings (e.g., resetting the Advertising ID). For information collected by Firebase, please refer to Google’s privacy policy.

8. Children's Privacy

The EYE2025 event is aimed at youth. While the App does not collect personal information, we encourage parents and guardians to supervise their children’s online activities. If you believe we might have inadvertently collected information related to a child under the applicable age of consent without parental permission, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy within the App or through other appropriate means. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

10. Contact Us

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or the App’s practices, please contact the event organizers through the official Salvation Army channels for the European Youth Event 2025.
